Ranked the 25th most visited city in the world, with fewer than 1 million inhabitants and more than 18 million international visitors each year. It’s fair to say that Amsterdam is an incredible and hugely attractive city. And having frequented Amsterdam on numerous occasions, I can say with confidence that it is one of the best cities in Europe. I can also say that despite being a hugely attractive international destination, generally speaking, hotels in Amsterdam tend to be of low or poor quality.

That said, it is painfully difficult to find an affordable and luxurious boutique hotel in Amsterdam. And, I will take this moment to confess that it was by utter chance that I found Monet Garden Hotel.

A small and eloquently designed boutique hotel located in Marken, Monet Garden Hotel is perfectly located in a safe and attractive neighbourhood. Neatly tucked away from the blistering crowds and noisy streets of Amsterdam, it is conveniently located and is highly accessible to all top Amsterdam attractions. A 15-minute walk from Dam Square and less than a 5-minute walk to the Metro (Waterlooplein), Monet Garden Hotel is a hidden treasure.

Monet Garden Hotel is truly an impressive hotel; that values personal comfort and offers the most superb customer service. The customer service on offer was honestly out of this world. The front of house was incredibly attentive, and I was blown away by their enthusiasm, professionalism and, most importantly, dedication to providing the best customer service. From the point of check-in to check-out, I was made to feel like a valued guest.

Boutique Hotel in Amsterdam

A medium-sized hotel featuring 105 guest rooms, I stayed in one of their Superior Double Rooms with Canal View (280 ft²). The room was astounding, inexplicably clean and spacious. If you have ever stayed in a hotel in Amsterdam, then you will understand, that space is a luxury. And by space I mean, the ability to walk freely in a hotel room without bumping into yourself.

Offering a modern interior and a beautifully tranquil canal view, this room offered more than I ever expected and/or anticipated from a hotel in Amsterdam. Moreover, the bathroom boasted a walk-in rainfall shower and an array of complimentary high-quality toiletries.

In relation to other areas of the hotel, the lounge and bar presented a sophisticated and minimalistic décor. And although the hotel offers a continental breakfast, I forewent breakfast and instead found myself at Pancakes Amsterdam.

Highly Recommended Boutique Hotel in Amsterdam City Centre

All in all, I had a superb stay! And in comparison to other hotels on offer in Amsterdam, Monet Garden Hotel stands out from the competition. Offering spacious rooms with incredible views and what only could be defined as Europe’s finest customer service, Monet Garden Hotel is an incredible hotel.

So, if you are thinking of visiting Amsterdam. And if, like me, you appreciate affordable luxury boutique hotels. Then I would highly recommend that you stay at Monet Garden Hotel.
