Inntel Hotels Amsterdam Centre

The luxury advertised was nowhere to be found.

Okay, before we get into this, I would like to point out the elephant in the room. Have you ever paid over the odds for a mediocre, I mean subpar hotel stay? If so, I think we could all agree that it hurts. On arrival, you begin to contemplate all available cancellation methods – only to sadly realise there are none, and you are quite frankly doomed!

Current Status: Back in the UK completing life itself.

Let me get straight to the point, the suspense alone is killing me, and my latest venture killed my account. So clearly, at this point, I have nothing more to lose!  The Elephant –  I paid over £500 for a three night’s stay at what I believed would be a 4-star experience.

Let me guess you’re thinking ‘njjnchbcebcijqluywete. Well, rest assured because that was the same thought I had on arrival at Inntel Hotels Amsterdam Centre.Value for money is value for money. There is no way to sugarcoat it or dress down. So if something is value for money, naturally, you are happy to pay that little (correction), a huge bit more for complete and utter bliss!

Usually, I wouldn’t spend so much on a short city stay; but I have to confess I was sold a dream! The pictures online of the Inntel Hotels looked AMAZING, and it was my birthday weekend, so I was feeling ‘bougie’.

In the midst of my ‘bougie-ness’, I stayed in what was referred to as the ‘Superior Room’. In all honesty, there was nothing superior about this room. However, the room suited its purpose. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean; well cleanish, except for the leftover faeces on the toilet brush.

Inntel Hotels Single Standard Room

On my descent back down to reality, for the remainder of my stay (2 nights), I stayed in a ‘Single Standard Room’. Based on my experience of the supposedly ‘Superior Room’, I did not expect much from the standard room.

Although I did not expect much, I did expect simple things, i.e. the ability to move around the room freely. But, instead, the room was cramped beyond comprehension – I was almost bumping into myself!

To put this into perspective, there was barely enough room to fit a double bed. Hence why the bed is positioned horizontally rather than vertically, and let me say that was weird! It felt wrong and completely threw me off (sleep-wise).

Despite all, overall, I had an okay stay. And although all necessities were catered for, unfortunately, the luxury advertised was nowhere to be found!

For the price tag attached to this hotel – without a quiver of doubt, this hotel did not offer value for money nor offer what I would expect from a four-star hotel. That being said, on this occasion, it is fair to say that I drew the short straw!
