Each year, we all spend a disgraceful amount of time scrambling around trying to figure out our summer plans. And I am sure we all could agree that deciding where to go is a painful process.

Often referred to as the ‘Grand Canyon of France’, Verdon Gorge is a river canyon in southeastern France. One of the greatest natural wonders, Verdon Gorge, is especially famous for its emerald hues.
2. Portofino, Italy
One of the most popular resorts on the Italian Riveria, Portofino is famous for its picturesque harbour and pastel-coloured houses. Similar to Monaco, Portofino is known to attract socialites from across the globe. With just over 500 permanent residents, Portofino is the perfect place to visit this summer.
3. Melissani Cave, Greece
A hidden gem, and much appraised by in-the-know travel enthusiasts, Melissani Cave, is genuinely one of the best-kept secrets within the travel community.
4. Petra, Jordan
Built-in the approximately 300 B.C by the Nabataeans, Petra is a famous archaeological site in Jordan’s southwestern desert. If you seek a fun but historically interesting trip, then you must visit Petra this summer.
5. Hallstatt, Austria
A fairytale village located on Lake Hallstatt’s mountainous western shore, Hallstatt is a beauty! If you seek a peaceful or off-the-grid vacation, then Hallstatt is definitely the place you should visit this summer.
6. Studlagil Canyon, Iceland
A sight that attracts few visitors, the Studlagil Canyon is a breathtaking geological masterpiece. Located in Glacier Valley called Jökuldalur, Studlagil Canyon is incredible and, without a doubt, the highlight of any trip to Iceland.
7. Cappadocia, Turkey
Located in central Turkey and well known for its distinctive ‘fairy chimneys’ and cave hotel, Cappadocia is a magical place. A unique region with lunar-like landscapes, underground cities, and so much to see and do. It would be a great pity not to consider visiting Cappadocia this summer.
8. Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia
The Plitvice Lakes National Park is a 295-sq.-km forest reserve in central Croatia. It’s known for its terraced lakes and beautiful waterfalls that extend into a limestone canyon.
9. Lake Bled, Slovenia
A lake in the Julian Alps of the Upper Carniolan region of northwestern Slovenia, where it adjoins the town of Bled. Lake Bled is a popular destination that appeals to all, and it is particularly popular amongst those that love hiking and watersports.
10. Cinque Terre, Italy
A renowned destination located on the rugged Italian Riviera, Cinque Terre compromises of five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore.
11. Machu Picchu, Peru
An Incan citadel set high in the Andes Mountains in Peru, Machu Picchu is an ancient city. Constructed in the 15th century and cherished by travellers across the globe, Machu Picchu is not only incredibly famous but also incredibly beautiful.
12. Chocolate Hills, Philippines
One of the most unique and mystical beauties in the world, the Chocolate Hills are a geological formation in the Bohol province of the Philippines. There are at least 1,260 Chocolate Hills, but there may be as many as 1,776 hills spread over an area of more than 50 square kilometres.
